"Do" judge a book by its cover (3)

"Do" judge a book by its cover is a weekly meme hosted here. Have you ever picked up a book because of its cover? Of coarse you have. Well here we get to look at some of the outstanding covers that are coming out soon! To participate, just link back here and grab the pic, and let everyone know what your favorite cover of the week is!
This weeks fantistic cover is:
halo
  • Nothing much happens in the sleepy town of Venus Cove. But everything changes when three angels are sent from heaven to protect the town against the gathering forces of darkness: Gabriel, the warrior; Ivy, the healer; and Bethany, a teenage girl who is the least experienced of the trio. They work hard to conceal their true identity and, most of all, their wings. But the mission is threatened when the youngest angel, Bethany, is sent to high school and falls in love with the handsome school captain, Xavier Woods. Will she defy the laws of Heaven by loving him? Things come to a head when the angels realize they are not the only supernatural power in Venus Cove. There′s a new kid in town and he′s charming, seductive and deadly. Worst of all, he′s after Beth.

My Thoughts: I love this cover. I love the fact that it is in silhouette form. It really is beautiful. I must admit that I put this on on my TBR pile just because of the cover...Then I read the info. Halo comes out on August 31st.

What do you judge?

If a cover is done well, then I want to pick up the book. HALO has the effect on me, too. Publishers should be VERY concerned about cover art...but then again, who wants a book with a great cover and a crappy plot?

Yes a great cover, but oh my! I hated the book. Lots of telling instead of showing, an angel that needs a mortal to look after her, nothing happening for ages, the bod boy not showing up until 3/4 of the way in, sterotyoed characters - do you really like your angels narrow minded? I couldn't finsh it I was so bored.

Ah well - don't judge a book by it's cover. I bet this one sold heaps of books though.
